EUPATI Reload

The EUPATI Patient Expert Training Programme, launched in 2016, mixes online and in-person training to give patients and patient advocates advanced knowledge of the research and development pathway for medicines. The goal is to increase the level of knowledge in the patient community, not just in Europe but around the world.

The EUPATI RELOAD project (2020-2021) aims to adapt the EUPATI Patient Expert Training Programme to cater for each learner’s needs, making the course more accessible and sustainable.

A key step is to repackage the six modules of the Training into up to 30 shorter modules, which means they can be offered in a format similar to the popular Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) found on learning platforms such as Coursera. Another improvement will be to enhance the e-learning elements of the face-to-face programme by using experiential and problem-based learning.

Objectives

  • Repackage the existing modules on medicines research and development into shorter modules.
  • Identify and implement an e-learning management system to host the future modules.
  • Develop new training content on Medical Devices and Digital Health

Start date and duration

The EUPATI Reload project is funded by EIT Health. It was launched on 1 January 2020 and will run for until December 2021.
