During an intensive four-day Patient Expert Training Programme event in Madrid, 85 participants from 33 countries, engaged in hands-on workshops, impactful discussions, and collaborative exercises designed to deepen their understanding of the medicine development process.
This included foundational sessions on pharmacovigilance and clinical trials, emphasising the role of patient involvement in healthcare decisions. Trainees also explored critical topics, including benefit-risk assessment, ethical access to treatments, and communication of safety issues. Sessions led by expert speakers like Marco Greco, Donatella Decise, and Jens Declerck, and featuring perspectives from EUPATI Fellows, underscored the importance of equity, transparency, and collaboration in patient-centered healthcare.
The program concluded with inspiring words from Maria Dutarte and Ingrid Klingmann as Cohort 7 graduates were welcomed into the growing EUPATI community, now made up of 415 EUPATI Fellows.
A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers, facilitators, and attendees who made these days insightful, lively and memorable. And a big congratulations to our new certified patient experts and EUPATI Fellows—your journey as patient advocates is just beginning!
