EUPATI Essentials Training Module 2 – Collaborating with patients across cultures

EUPATI Essentials Training Module 2 took place recently on 23 April. This is a new module designed to empower patient involvement across all sectors.

The training is focused on collaboration across cultures, and it provides definitions of culture and dimensions and how to communicate in cultures. The interactive module guides learners through the complexities and best practices for inclusive, culturally sensitive patient engagement and cultural differences in health and disease.

The training shows unique opportunities for the participants to understand how the perception of health and disease is impacted by the culture and how this could also affect the development of clinical trials. Throughout theory, practical exercises and discussions, there is a chance to implement the knowledge about patient involvement and cultural collaboration and to see how this could look in practice.

More than 15 participants studied together, exchanging experiences on different cultural elements and learning how to enhance cooperation with patients. The Essentials Training Modules are tailored for industry and academia. This training provides practical tools and real-world knowledge on patient involvement as well as focusing on how to interact with patients. EUPATI Essentials is co-designed and co-delivered with patient experts who shared their knowledge and experiences on the topic.
