EUPATI partners with the International Diabetes Federation Europe (IDF Europe) – to support the empowerment of people with lived experience and progress research in diabetes.

The European Patients’ Academy of Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI) is delighted to announce a new partnership agreement with the International Diabetes Federation Europe (IDF Europe).

IDF Europe is an umbrella organisation representing both people living with diabetes (PwD) and healthcare professionals. Their activities aim to strengthen health policy across Europe and empower PwD to lead change, raise public awareness of diabetes and amplify the voice of their community in various ways, from their participation in advocacy initiatives and policy events to their engagement in research projects.

The inclusive, multicultural landscapes of both organisations are key strengths for fostering meaningful collaboration. EUPATI will help empower PwD through education across medicines R&D lifecycle. Their involvement in health research is central to IDF Europe’s mission to be the voice of PwD and to engage all stakeholders in shaping a person-centred, health-promoting diabetes ecosystem.

Maria Dutarte, EUPATI Executive Director notes howWe are delighted to partner with IDF Europe and initiate a close collaboration around education and knowledge building in medicines R&D. IDF Europe’s inclusive and multicultural network and their active role in EU-funded research and other initiatives that aim at improving the health of European citizens provides inspiration for all other members of the EUPATI family”.

Elisabeth Dupont, IDF Europe Regional Manager agrees that “At IDF Europe, we believe that meaningful progress in diabetes care can only be achieved through the active involvement of PwD in health research.  Our partnership with EUPATI is a key part of our ongoing efforts to empower individuals with lived experience to actively shape the future of research and innovation that directly impacts their lives”.
