Stay tuned to learn more about the dedicated individuals working for the EUPATI Secretariat team.

What’s your name and where are you dialling in from?

My name is Laia Bisbal, and I work remotely from Barcelona, my hometown.

What is your main work stream?

Since November 2022, I’ve been the Open Classroom Coordinator. I’m responsible for making sure our online training platform works well and is accessible to all users. I also focus on developing audiovisual materials to support learning and make our content easier to engage with.

The Open Classroom brings together learning content developed through various projects, which means I’m involved in different initiatives across the organization. This gives me a broad view of our activities and allows me to support the creation of clear, accessible, and inclusive training materials.

Another key part of my work is being a member of the EUPATI Patient Expert Training Programme Committee – our training programme about the medicines’ development process aimed to patients and patient representative. I contribute to the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of the programme to ensure it runs smoothly and meets the needs of our learners.

What is your favourite part of your role?

My favourite part of my job is the contact with the people around me. I really enjoy collaborating with colleagues, brainstorming creative ideas, and working together to bring projects to life. I value the interaction with our trainees, who share their stories and experiences, making our work feel meaningful and connected to real needs. I also appreciate the opportunity to work with different partners and collaborators who support us in successfully developing our activities.

Describe your typical working day?

My days tend to be quite varied, as my work depends on the needs of the moment. Generally, I start by checking that the Open Classroom platform is running smoothly and responding to any questions from users. I also regularly meet with our platform provider to discuss improvements and ensure everything is working efficiently.

A significant part of my work is dedicated to the Patient Expert Training Programme — making sure students have what they need, planning key events throughout the year, and preparing audiovisual materials for both training and communication.

I also collaborate on different projects across the organisation, which keeps me constantly thinking outside the box — something I really enjoy.

What is your favourite quote – be it for work or your personal life?

Creativity flows when there’s space to share, learn from the mistakes and build together.
