EUPATI Partners with Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE) to Empower Patients and Carers

May 31st, 2024

The European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI) is thrilled to announce its new partnership with Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE). This collaboration aims to enhance patient and carer involvement in advocacy and research through comprehensive education and training initiatives.

As a leading organisation dedicated to advancing patient education and engagement, EUPATI brings a wealth of knowledge and resources to this partnership. DiCE, representing patients with digestive cancers across Europe, is deeply committed to empowering patients and carers with the tools they need to actively participate in the healthcare ecosystem.

Maria Dutarte, EUPATI Executive Director, expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to embark on this collaboration with Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE), focusing on our shared vision of supporting patients and carers in their involvement in advocacy and research. We are happy that DiCE is strongly committed to education and training as key forces of patient empowerment, and EUPATI looks forward to serving the digestive cancer community with helpful materials and know-how in medicines R&D.”

Zorana Maravic, CEO of Digestive Cancers Europe, reflected on the key role of patients, “Despite popular beliefs, in many cases, receiving a cancer diagnosis motivates people to accumulate depths of knowledge about their cancer; we want to equip them with the right tools and empower them to use that energy and knowledge. With that in mind, we look forward to how our collaboration with EUPATI can help patients navigate an often-complex healthcare ecosystem and become active agents in their treatment and care.”

About EUPATI, The European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI) is a multistakeholder initiative that aims to provide patients and the public with accessible, well-structured, and credible information about medicines R&D. EUPATI’s mission is to increase the capacity of patients to understand and contribute to medicines R&D, and to improve the availability of patient-friendly information.
